Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week in Breda: Maravilla Studios x Bloesem Vintage In-Store Upcycling Session.

This week is Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week, the week in which we celebrate sustainable fashion. On Friday, October 13^th, Bloesem Vintage (@bloesemvintage) & Maravilla Studios (@a.la.maravilla) are hosting an in-store session where Yasmine will live upcycle clothing or items brought by you or purchased in the store using her personalized calligraphy. You can choose to have your initials or cool freehand shapes, among other options. The session will take place from 12:00 to 18:00 in the Bloesem Vintage store in Breda.

Yasmine van Maasakker (Maravilla Studios) explores the theme of ​‘taking time’ in her work. Calligraphy, a meditative craft, is a practice that forces her to slow down, requiring precision and attention. In her work, the shape of the letter is the starting point, allowing the readability and meaning of the letter to fade away. This places the focus on craftsmanship, details, and materials.

Bloesem Vintage is a vintage store for modern times. The collection consists of vintage items with a modern look. They appear as if you could find them right on the high street, but with the advantages of vintage: they are unique designs, made from the finest fabrics, designed for long-lasting enjoyment. You can find the store at Willemstraat 21, in Breda, near the station.

Prices:

• Two-letter initials (including design) €35
• Four freehanded shapes €35
• Additional freehanded shape + €8

Info: On thicker fabrics such as leather, suede, denim, or heavy cotton, the ink will be most visible. Each shape or letter takes 10 to 15 minutes to calligraph.

Please note! When you reserve a spot, we expect you to arrive 10 minutes in advance. If you’re unsure about your design, please arrive 20 minutes early. If you’re late, your spot may be given to someone else.
