Turn Old Sofa Leather into Your Own Jewellery
On Saturday 7 November 2026, Berlin jewellery brand Wara Designs hosts a hands on workshop at Ohma Studio. Led by French silversmith Caroline Daoulas, participants make their own jewellery from leather rescued from old Berlin armchairs and sofas.
The two hour session starts with finding a design, either your own idea or one of the prepared models. Participants then cut and shape the leather offcuts, make their own hooks, jump rings and connectors from metal wire, and assemble and finish their pieces. Everyone takes home 1 to 3 finished pieces, depending on the designs chosen, plus the basic skills to keep creating, upcycling and repairing jewellery at home.
No experience is needed. All materials and tools are included, and Caroline guides participants throughout. Old jewellery or personal items are welcome too, and on the day she’ll see together with participants what can be used.
Tickets can be booked online on the Wara Designs website. COSH! readers get 20% off with the code COSH20 at checkout. If 7 November doesn’t suit, further dates are planned for 20 November, 11 December and 19 December. Private workshops for small groups are also available on request.
