Turn a Piece of Berlin into Your Own Jewellery
On Wednesday 14 October, WARA Designs invites you to an evening of making at Ohma Studio in Friedrichshain. Caroline, the silversmith behind the label, guides a small group through creating jewellery from leather offcuts and simple metal components like hooks, jump rings and connectors.
The leather has a story of its own. Caroline works with material salvaged from old Berlin sofas, armchairs and interiors, which gives every piece a little bit of city history.
What to expect:
- Make 1 to 3 pieces, depending on your design
- Design freely from scratch, or follow one of the available models
- Learn techniques you can use at home to make and repair your own jewellery
- A relaxed pace in a small group of max. 6 people
No experience is needed. All materials are included, so you only need to bring your curiosity. At the end of the evening, you’ll leave wearing something you made yourself.
Can’t make this date? WARA Designs runs the workshop regularly, and further dates are listed on its website.
