Give Old Clothes a New Story
NochMall, Berlin’s first department store for secondhand goods, is teaming up with the adult education centre VHS Reinickendorf for another round of its design workshop for everyone interested in fashion. You can work with garments from NochMall’s stock of used clothing, or bring your own worn pieces and turn them into new favourites.
Course leader Janine Coldewey shows you how to work with patterns and sewing techniques, and no previous experience is needed. A bag, a cushion or a skirt? What you make depends entirely on your own ideas.
Please bring: Scissors, thread, pins, a tape measure and bias binding. If you have them, also bring old fabrics, clothes or iron-on patches. You’re welcome to bring your own sewing machine and patterns too.
