When the Fix Becomes the Feature
A safety pin usually comes out in a hurry: a missing button, a loose hem, a strap that gave up. Tina Steinke thinks it deserves better than hiding, and turns the quick fix into a statement piece. As part of LOOPTOPIA, the event series organised by @circular.berlin, Tina Steinke invites participants to her workshop table to design their very own pin.
Participants dig through reclaimed denim and leather, chains, metal bits and a mountain of secondhand buttons to create a pin that is entirely theirs. It can be worn on a jacket, coat or bag, or used to cover a small flaw with style. Anyone stuck for ideas can find inspiration in the examples and mood board on site.
This edition is hosted by @alamode.schneiderei in its tailoring studio at the Aufbau Haus in Kreuzberg.
