Kleiderei Berlin, the Kreuzberg-based fashion library where members share and rent a curated collection of vintage, second-hand, and fair fashion pieces, is launching something entirely new during Berlin Fashion Week 2026: its very first upcycling collection, created in collaboration with Berlin bag label Wallawalla.
“Stories We Carry” is a limited edition of 25 one-of-a-kind bags, each made by hand from sorted-out and defective pieces that could no longer circulate in the Kleiderei collection. Instead of ending their journey there, these garments found a new form: reimagined by Friederike Wehpke of Wallawalla, who transforms second-hand clothing into handcrafted, deeply personal bags. Every piece carries a story, and now gives it a second life.
The collection launches with an exclusive preview evening on Friday 3 July, open to everyone who wants to be among the first to discover, try and shop the pieces. Expect an evening of drinks, music, inspiring conversations, and genuine community, bringing together people who believe in slow fashion, the sharing economy, and thoughtful consumption.
From 10 July onwards, a selection of the bags will also be available to borrow in every Kleiderei store across Germany, for members only.
