Workshop: Sashiko Embroidery for Beginners
2.5‑hour visible mending embroidery workshop in Amsterdam
In this 2.5‑hour workshop, you will learn the basics of Sashiko embroidery. Sashiko is an ancient Japanese technique used for visible mending of clothing. Today, this embroidery style is also widely used to repair denim garments and create decorative works. With this stitch, you can make beautiful geometric patterns. During the workshop, you will get to know the different Sashiko materials and create a sample piece on dark blue ecological fabric.

Materials
All embroidery materials used during the workshop are included in the price. You can take your embroidered work (or work in progress) home after the workshop. If you’d like to continue practising at home with other patterns, you are welcome to purchase extra materials in our studio.
Catering
You will be offered coffee, tea, and water, along with a few delicious pastries from the patisserie. Lunch is not included, but we are happy to recommend nearby lunch spots if desired.

The session is suitable for beginners but also enjoyable for experienced embroiderers who would like to try working on a different type of fabric.
