Embroider your own Sashiko patch
On Visible Mending Friday we organise – in collaboration with Wear for Life and Cosh – multiple short workshops in which we mend our clothes. Sign up for one or join multiple. As it’s Friday we add drinks and yummy snacks to make it even more fun.
In this 1,5 hour session you will learn an easy way to mend your knitwear in a fun and visible way. You can bring your own knitted clothes (socks, sweaters, etc.) Even better if they have a hole so you can mend it during the workshop. No damaged knitwear in your wardrobe? then you can use this darning method to pimp your knitwear with some extra color. We will have different thicknesses of threads and yarn to work with so we can always find a fun match with your outfit.
What you’ll learn in this quick mending workhop
- How to match colors and threads with your garment
- What you need to think about when darning on knitwear
- How to do scotch darning
- How to use a mending mushroom
