Yuki Threads is an Australian snowboard brand that was founded in 2010. The brand is actively promoting sustainability, which is reflected in its material use. Yuki Threads uses fully organic cotton, either GOTS certified or Fairtrade, largely recycled polyester and Bluesign-approved fabrics. On top of that, it’s also a member of 1% for the Planet.
Not transparent enough
There’s still a lack of transparency. It’s unclear where Yuki Threads’ products are made, and there’s insufficient information available to ensure that human rights are fully upheld throughout the supply chain. Besides that, there are no certifications for the animal-derived materials, and the brand is not transparent about its carbon emissions. It’s a pity that a brand like Yuki Threads, that positions itself as sustainable, is not more transparent about its production. When the brand provides more information about how it makes its products, its rating may increase significantly. But at the moment, we don’t have enough information to recommend them as a sustainable option.
