What is Yuma Labs?
Yuma Labs was founded in 2017 by Sebastiaan de Neubourg. His goal? Thinking differently about everyday products. That’s why Sebastiaan started designing and producing 3D printed sunglasses for men and women. Raw material: old refrigerators, car parts and even waste from the Schelde. Yuma Labs combines authentic craftsmanship with the latest technology and is the first sunglass brand to print its products with a 3D printer. How cool is that?
Eco-brand?
It must be!
No waste of space or energy for a large factory or warehouse, no, Yuma Labs produces its sunglasses on demand and in house.
For Yuma Labs, waste does not exist. Because if your sunglasses are broken or worn, you can just bring them back to them and they will be recycled… into a new one.
Oh, and Yuma Labs didn’t invest any money in an expensive logo or beautiful business cards. No, all the money crawls into their products.
A great place to work?
Well, Sebastiaan de Neubourg is the founder, owner, marketer, designer, sales manager and investor. And he is happy with his job. So, yes. Yuma Labs is a nice place to work.
The HQ of Yuma Labs is located on Plein Publiek, in the centre of Antwerp’s Circulair Zuid. This district is subsidised by the Urban Innovative Action Fund and wants to stimulate a sustainable use of energy, water, waste and materials. Eco: check!
And, is Yuma Labs a circular brand?
Yes, it is! Not only does Yuma Labs make its cool glasses out of waste, if your sunglasses are worn or broken, you can bring them back to them to make a new one. It’s, as Sebastiaan de Neubourg himself says: Let’s make recycling great again.
And it’s a win-win for both Yuma Labs and the buyer. Because if you return your sunglasses, you get a nice discount in exchange. And Yuma Labs has new raw materials.
Short/overall
Cool sunglasses, with a clean story.
