Stop The Water While Using Me!

The products from Stop the water while using me! are developed and produced in Germany and Austria. This allows the working conditions to be well regulated. However, it is unclear where the ingredients for the products are sourced. 

As mentioned, the brand considers water very valuable, which is why they started their Good Water Projects in 2014. Through these, they are committed to providing global access to clean drinking water, sanitation and hygiene. With their financial donations, project partners have been able to build wells, open water kiosks and stretch mist nets. And you can contribute! Because with every purchase from the brand, you support this water initiative. 

The brand uses only ingredients of natural origin! The plan is to have the entire range certified by Ecocert Greenlife according to the COSMOS standard by 2024. Currently, some of the products already carry this recognized certificate! COSMOS is a certification for natural cosmetics that prohibits harmful processes during the production process and in the product. All the brand’s products are also free of microplastics, parabens, silicones and petrochemicals. Moreover, you don’t have to worry about your shampoo leaving harmful residues in the environment because all products are biodegradable, which means nothing but pure nature returns to the water cycle. 

Packaging

Regarding packaging, the brand states that it should protect the formulas of their products while minimizing the environmental impact. Therefore, they follow the ​“5R strategy”: rethink, reduce, recycle, refill, recyclable. But what exactly does this say? Well, among other things, that 76% of the brand’s packaging is recyclable and that there are refill packs for 21 out of 25 products. The latter saves a lot of plastic waste!

As a climate-conscious company, the brand is constantly working to minimize their own emissions. To this end, they have calculated the CO₂ footprint of the company and of each individual product, from the extraction of raw materials, production, storage and transportation to disposal at the end of the life cycle. The brand’s strategy is: First avoid, then reduce and then offset unavoidable emissions. They lay the foundation for this by producing their cosmetic products in Germany and Austria. 

Since the beginning of 2020, Stop the water while using me! has been working with Climate to reduce emissions in the production of its cosmetics. 

Stop the water while using me! products are not tested on animals. In addition, the natural cosmetics – with the exception of the Lemon Honey skincare line – are vegan.

The refill packs that the brand offers for many of its products will help you consume less plastic! COSH! also recommends taking a look at the brand’s ​‘waterless’ products. Here you will find shampoo bars, toothpaste tablets, as well as facial cleansing bars among others. These products are made waterless and climate-neutral.

It is unfortunate that the brand does not provide information about where their ingredients come from, because at COSH! we can see that the brand is doing its best to be sustainable in many areas. The brand itself also says they are not perfect and are constantly working to be better. So they are very honest about this.
