Snuist is part of the Zinvol Foundation, which is committed to providing meaningful, creative daytime activities. Snuist offers a nice place to young adults (20−40 years), in particular, who are distanced from the labour market due to, for example, a mild mental disability, autism, ADHD, non-congenital brain injury (NAH), Down syndrome or psychological problems. In the care studio, young adults at a distance from the labour market can find creative daytime activities. The emphasis here is on having a meaningful day. Kelly thinks it is essential that young adults feel at home, experience a lot of positive energy and have direction in what they like to do. The participants make all the trinkets by hand in the studio in the centre of Tilburg.
Kelly’s goal is to supervise a maximum of six participants per day so that everyone has enough time and attention. The participants who come to Snuist usually come for two days a week and have another, often more intensive, workplace alongside it. This combination creates a better balance in the (work) week and thus also a better personal balance.

Snuist is mainly focused on the human and ethical part and wants to be able to invest all her time and attention in this. But Kelly also tries to be as sustainable as possible with all products. The scented candles are made from soy wax, and the soaps are made from aloe vera. However, the other candles are made from paraffin, which is, unfortunately, the most harmful raw material for candles. This fossil fuel emits toxic greenhouse gases into the air when burned.

With a paper shredder Snuist shreds their small packaging boxes to fill their order boxes before sending them to the customers.
All products are made in the studio in Tilburg. So everything is made locally! Where the materials come from, however, is unknown.
The brand’s products are probably not 100% vegan. Candles often contain animal raw materials, such as beeswax and stearin, from animal fat. However, the ceramics at Snuist are made from vegan materials!
All Snuist items are handmade with care for quality and attention to detail. Due to the handwork, products may vary slightly in colour or size. This makes your purchase unique!

There is much information on Snuist’s website about how the organisation operates. Kelly is also open about the fact that she wants to focus mainly on the work with young adults and, therefore, has less time to focus on the sustainability of the products. At COSH! we can appreciate this openness and focus on the ethical piece!
