WORKING CONDITIONS & WAGES
Serendipity Organics states that cotton clothing is produced in India and that knitted pieces made from Baby Alpaca and Llama wool are manufactured in Bolivia.
According to Serendipity Organics, the entire production chain has been GOTS-certified for 15 years.
The main production site is both Fair Trade and SA8000 certified.
Serendipity Organics has been working with the same suppliers for 18 years and maintains, according to the company, personal relationships with producers, who are also visited regularly.
For Bolivia, Serendipity Organics describes a rather artisanal production process: the knitters work often at home and sometimes in groups, as a family tradition. Quality is controlled by a fair-trade certified company with a team of Bolivian women.
The Himalayan Merino line is hand-knitted in small women’s collectives as part of an NGO project.
The company provides financial support to the Danish Red Cross for Ukraine relief efforts and donates children’s clothing to local communities in Denmark that are hosting Ukrainian refugees.

- Serendipity Organics ships in boxes or paper envelopes made of unbleached, untreated paper. Products are packaged in polybags which, according to the company, are recyclable. Serendipity Organics states that it is currently looking into alternatives to polybags.
- During sea transport, each individual piece is wrapped separately and transported in cartons.
WATER USAGE & CHEMICALS
Through the GOTS certification of the entire production chain, harmful chemicals are excluded.
Since Serendipity Organics uses exclusively natural fibres (except elastic in waistbands), microplastic release during washing is low.
CIRCULAR PRODUCT DESIGN
According to Serendipity Organics, the company exclusively uses mono fibres, which simplifies later recycling. A take-back service for worn or end-of-life clothing is not offered. The brand recommends repairing damaged items rather than discarding them and offers customers the option to send garments to the company for repair. The care instructions provided on the website help to extend the lifespan of the products.
