Behind the brand is Laura, creator of FYOB, a person who believes in values. A person with good and not so good experiences, where her path in life has led her to believe that through clothes you can change things.
FYOB is committed to ethical production and fair trade, where all workers have decent working conditions. The factory where most of its garments are made is certified by the Fair Wear Foundation, which guarantees that the conditions and rights of workers and fair trade practices have been respected throughout the production chain of a garment.
All the fabrics she works with are ecological, recycled and vegan. Her skirts and kimonos are made with cupro and viscose.
The material cupro is also called “vegan silk” because it has many similar properties to silk. This fibre is made using cotton waste and is therefore plant-based. Viscose, on the other hand, is a fabric obtained from certified wood (LENZING™ ECOVERO™). This means it is made with wood sourced from sustainable forestry.
Their T‑shirts and tote bags are made from 100% organic cotton with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification. Organic cotton is grown in a sustainable way where no chemicals (toxic, pesticides, fertilisers) are used and the cycles of the earth are respected.
Finally, its sweatshirts and hats are made from 100% organic cotton with GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification and recycled polyester with GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certification, a certificate guaranteeing that a minimum of 20% of the fabric consists of recycled fibres.
At FYOB they follow the “zero waste” philosophy, where leftover pieces of fabric are always reused to create new pieces, packaging or any other possible use.
In this way they encourage the reuse of waste that would otherwise be stored or incinerated, thus contributing to the decontamination of the environment.
FYOB BRAND kimonos and skirts are 100% locally made in a workshop located in Girona, ensuring the best quality finish and minimum fabric waste. Thus betting on local production.
However, the first stage of FYOB BRAND’s T-shirts, tote bags, sweatshirts and fisherman’s hats are made in Bangladesh, under ethical and fair conditions.
Finally, the finishing and details of all the garments, the packaging, ironing and shipping are always done from their workshop located in Girona.
FYOB is a 100% vegan brand!
Its garments have two vegan certificates:
V- Label, which confirms that the garments do not contain any components of animal origin through demanding and exhaustive controls and audits, and Peta approved Vegan certificate. The latter guarantees that the components, the fabrics and the final garment have not been tested on animals. This certificate is valid for a minimum of one year.
FYOB garments are limited series, as few units are produced. They are made with quality sustainable fabrics for greater durability.
In addition, FYOB garments are genderless. They want to make visible and break with all the stereotypes linked to gender, so they create with a casual style, for all body types.
FYOB has revealed to COSH! all the places where it buys materials and manufactures its garments. Furthermore, on its website in the description of some of its garments, you can find information about where the garment is produced.
