Oltramar was born out of a desire to share an artistic, philosophical and poetic approach with the world. At the heart of this approach, sustainable organic indigo fibre is explored in all its nuances thanks to extensive research into natural materials.
Valentina is the founder of Studio Oltramar. An Italian-Croatian interior designer from the Istria region of Croatia. After living, studying and working in different places in Europe, in 2019 she moved to the south of France and there she discovered the world of natural dyes, and the ancestral technique of indigo dyeing that immediately conquered her. After 2 years, thanks to the people she met, the apprenticeship with great dyers from all over France, and the hard work, in September 2022 she created the first collection of Oltramar garments.
Oltramar garments are dyed with pigments from Provence, in the South of France, by Laura and Amandine from Le Champ des Couleurs. The garments are made by Anne and Coralie, two friends who decided to create a small artisan workshop in Montpellier called Atelier Cats.
