What started as an accidental introduction to tufting, in combination with Hanne’s background in the fascinating world of architecture, grew into a lively creative atelier called Tapis Plain.
Besides her own one-of-a-kind, colourful pieces, founder Hanne also works on tailor-made items. Think striking wall or floor carpets with a sturdy character and unique, slower design process.
What makes Tapis Plain stand out is the constant experimentation with materials: from deadstock from fashion designers to recycled yarn and more natural fibres. For the workshops in Antwerp, she often uses second-hand wool or leftovers from previous projects. During such a creative workshop, you will learn to make your own tapestry in 4 hours. Hanne afterwards takes care of the framing to finalise your unique decoration piece, so that you can take it home to spice up your surroundings.
With a tapestry from Tapis Plain, you not only have a unique product that adds a colourful touch to your home, but you also support a passionate maker who works by hand and with the heart in everything she does.
