Naaipunt is no ordinary place. Here textiles are connected not only with needle and thread, but also with vision and passion for sustainability. The core values embrace ecology and the preservation of our planet, and this is reflected in everything they do.
Small-scale production
There are considerably few ateliers in Belgium, and young designers cannot always produce in large quantities immediately. That’s why Naaipunt does that for them. In doing so, they are supported by three workers from social employment, whom they then help further into the labor market in the textile sector after 2.5 years.
Sewing with a Touch of Magic
The workshops are not ordinary sewing classes. They are a gateway to creativity, open to anyone who wants to learn. In a welcoming environment, they teach you the art of sewing, without barriers. Anyone can embrace the skill of sewing and use it as an outlet for expression.
The Shop: Where Past and Future Come Together
Garments have stories to tell, and at Naaipunt they give them a new chapter. The store houses treasures that deserve a second life. Do you have forgotten treasures in the attic yourself? They transform them into precious finds. Need original gifts? Discover their upcycled creations, from toiletry bags to keychains, all made with love for craftsmanship and the planet.
The store is open Tuesday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Posthof Neighborhood House, 62 Patriottenstraat, Berchem.
Sewing in Knowledge
Sewing is more than pulling threads through the fabric. It’s a skill that brings empowerment. That’s why they not only teach you about your sewing machine but also offer EHBN – First Aid for Sewing — getting stuck in your project? Looking for repair advice? Every Wednesday, they are available for you from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. or feel free to make an appointment.
From Rental to Repair
Are you still trying to decide about buying a sewing machine? Or are you an avid sewer without a machine? At Naaipunt, you can rent one to experiment without long-term commitments. You can let your creative threads flow for just €7 a week (Tuesday to Tuesday).
