Print and fashion stylist Sophia Bentoh, born in Togo and raised in the Netherlands, combines personal memories, African symbolism, and graphic forms in her collection to create unique designs. Some small accessories are handmade, while her fashion collection pieces are produced in small runs and on demand by a sewing atelier—without mass production.
Until October 1st, 2025, Sophia works from her studio in Amsterdam-Noord, where the door is open to everyone (Buiksloterweg 9A2). After that, she will work from her home studio, also in Amsterdam, where clients are welcome by appointment. Sales also take place through her online shop and at pop-up events. In addition, she sometimes visits clients on location with a curated selection from her collection.
The collection consists of digitally printed clothing made from more sustainable materials such as recycled plastic and eco cotton. Sophia also creates new products from her leftover materials—including scarves, cushions, bags, wallets, and one-off specials. Her work is characterized by rhythmic colors, geometry, and cultural layers.
Alongside her work as a designer, Sophia is also a freelance lecturer. She has taught at AMFI (Amsterdam Fashion Institute) and Artemis Academy. She teaches, develops her prints both by hand and digitally, and enjoys organizing workshops to share her passion for artisanal printmaking.
Sophia Bentoh is for city nomads, lovers of color and design, and anyone who dares to stand out with patterns that tell stories.
