The sound of sewing machines, piles of rolled up fabrics and enthusiastic employees ready for a chat. At New Optimist, sustainable fashion is not just about the clothes in the store, but it’s about the entire process. When you visit the store you can see with your own eyes how the clothes are made, because the studio is located in the middle of the store! New Optimist puts the makers and the creative process in the spotlight.
New Optimist’s clothing is produced locally, socially and circularly. The design and manufacturing process follows circular design principles, causing as little pollution or waste as possible. The fabrics, hangtags and stitching are made from (recycled) organic cotton. In addition, the studio offers workplaces at different levels, partly for people with a distance to the labor market and/or with a migration background.
