Kringloop West

Kringloop West is a 700 m² circular department store in Amsterdam where sustainability, reuse, and creativity come together. Everything you find at Kringloop West is donated by local residents or collected via their own pick-up service by van or cargo bike. From vintage furniture and upcycled lamps to clothing, books, bicycles, and unique home accessories – every item here gets a second chance.

The store is divided into different zones: in the basement, you’ll find the bike refurbishment area, where retro racing bikes and city bikes are given a new lease of life. On the ground floor, a quarter of the space is dedicated to textiles and old paper. They are working on partnerships with companies that create insulation material from old textiles, and they also provide space for creative women and home hobbyists who make new products from these leftover materials.

In addition to shopping, you can also take part in workshops at Kringloop West – from furniture restoration to creative upcycling. The coffee corner ​“Prut”, serving coffee from a local Amsterdam roaster, also makes the store a cosy meeting place for the neighbourhood.

They collaborate with local makers and provide a platform for sustainable initiatives. From cargo bike rentals and bike repairs to serving as a Homerr point for eco-friendly shipping: everything contributes to their mission of reducing waste and encouraging reuse.

At Kringloop West, they believe that reusing is not only good for the planet, but also fun and valuable. Every product is carefully inspected and, if necessary, repaired to ensure only high-quality items make it to the shop floor. Thanks to the constant flow of goods, every visit is different – today you might find that perfect cabinet, tomorrow a unique vase or a stack of books with character.
