Fruittuin van West is a biodynamic orchard and pick-your-own farm located on Tom Schreursweg 48 in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. Spanning around 6.5 hectares, the orchard is home to over twenty varieties of fruit — apples, pears, berries, plums and more — that visitors are welcome to pick themselves. With daily harvests and free-ranging chickens, the farm offers a hands-on experience for all ages.
The site also features a welcoming garden café and a well-stocked organic shop. Here you’ll find fresh bread, dairy, vegetables, fruit, juices, wine and pantry staples — all certified organic and sourced from local farms.
Fruittuin van West is also a place for learning and connection. Visitors engage with the seasons, natural cycles and ecological farming. Interns are involved in day-to-day operations, and cultural events, workshops and school visits are held regularly.
The location is also available for corporate meetings and private events, hosted in green surroundings with views over the orchard — from the Tuinlokaal to the Raathuis.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:00. Reservations are only required for groups of more than 10 people or school/childcare visits.
Fruittuin van West shows how city and countryside can thrive together — a space where people, plants and animals work in harmony toward a more conscious and flavourful future.
