Floria Collective is a slow fashion brand based in Amsterdam-Oost, built on the core values of transparency, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Although the label does not yet have a physical store, it operates from a studio in Amsterdam-Oost with a clear mission: to create clothing that allows both people and the planet to flourish. The brand was founded by Fleur and Froukje, two women who share a passion for fashion and social change.
The collections – business-inspired womenswear – are designed for conscious women who value quality and style without compromising on ethics or the environment. Each piece is made from natural or mono-materials such as organic cotton, merino wool, and silk. The brand consciously chooses plant-based dyeing methods – using dyes made from tree bark, red onion skins, and flowers left behind at temples in India. These flowers are processed by Akané Studio, a project run by two sisters in India who combine traditional dyeing techniques with centuries-old knowledge and sustainable values.
Floria Collective produces in a small-scale and fully transparent way. Wool suits are made in Portugal, knitwear in Italy, and an exclusive selection of silk blouses and skirts is handcrafted in small ateliers in India. By working with artisans and family-run businesses, the brand ensures fair wages and safe working conditions, while also contributing to the preservation of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.
The brand is also committed to more sustainable packaging, using both new and reused boxes. Through collaborations with partners like Mended (for garment repairs) and Yumeko (for blouses made from old duvets), the label is actively moving toward a more circular fashion concept.
The name Floria means “to bloom” in Papiamentu – a fitting reflection of the brand’s essence. Floria Collective represents clothing that is not only worn, but that also carries a vision – a vision in which people and the planet can bloom together.
