Vera Nederlof, a talented artist and professional boxer, has brought her two passions together in a unique concept called JAB! Boxing Couture. During the Dutch Sustainable Fashion Week from 5 to 11 October, she will present her collection and concept in the boxing ring of the Experience Center in Rotterdam.
A Unique Approach to Fashion
JAB! Boxing Couture distinguishes itself by combining sustainability and creativity. With a very limited stock, Vera offers customers the possibility of having clothes upcycled and made to order. This means that your clothes are always perfectly tailored and unique. Moreover, there is no need for redundant stock or returns, as only garments that satisfy both parties go out into the world.
Van Ballet naar Boksen: Een Nieuwe Uitdaging
Na een lange periode van klassiek ballet besloot Vera Nederlof om te gaan boksen. Voor haar voelde boksen als dansen, maar dan met meer improvisatie. In plaats van met iemand te dansen, danste ze ‘tegen’ haar tegenstander. Boksen geeft haar vrijheid, kracht, zelfvertrouwen en plezier. Ze ziet het als schaken met haar lichaam, waarbij ze niet alleen fysieke kracht gebruikt, maar ook haar inzicht in mensen. Het is een manier voor haar om zichzelf uit te drukken met haar boksartwerken.

From Ballet to Boxing: A New Challenge
After a long stint in classical ballet, Vera Nederlof decided to take up boxing. For her, boxing felt like dancing, but with more improvisation. Instead of dancing with someone, she danced ‘against’ her opponent. Boxing gives her freedom, strength, confidence and fun. She sees it as chess with her body, using not only physical strength but also her understanding of people. It is a way for her to express herself with her boxing artworks
Art and Boxing: A Creative Fusion
Vera Nederlof has always had a desire to bring together the worlds of boxing and art in different ways. She shows her artworks as a performance exhibition, for example as a ring card girl in the boxing ring during a match. Recently, she worked on a mural of a boxer jumping rope. She keeps constantly exploring what else she can do with her drawings and is always trying to push boundaries. JAB! BY VERA NEDERLOF® – BOXING COUTURE – is her latest concept that embodies this creative fusion.
