In this two-hour session, you’ll learn how to mend your knitted items in a fun and effective way. You’re welcome to bring along your own knitted garments (socks, jumpers, etc.). It’s even more fun if there’s a hole in it, so you can repair it during the workshop. Don’t have any damaged knits in your wardrobe? Then you can use this darning method to jazz up your knitwear with a bit of extra colour. We’ll be working with different thicknesses of yarn, so we can always find a nice match for your outfit.
What you’ll learn in this quick repair workshop
How to choose colours and yarns for your garment
What to look out for when darning knitted items
How to do darning
How to use a darning mushroom?
Materials:
Bring along some knitted garments (socks, jumpers, etc.) that you’d like to work on. Ideally, bring a woollen or cotton garment, but a blend of synthetic and natural fibres is also fine. To start with, we recommend not bringing any fuzzy knits, mohair or cashmere.
The materials you use during the workshop are included in the price. You’ll probably be able to mend at least one hole during the workshop and, depending on its size, perhaps even several. If you’d like to practise further at home, you can buy extra supplies at the studio.
