Lien & Giel?
Founders Eline and Michiel have met in the aviation industry. After thirteen years of exploring the world, they were looking for a new challenge. So, they started selling colourful clothing, but when they couldn’t find what they were looking for with existing brands, they founded their own brand: Lien & Giel.
Meanwhile, the brand is sold in four of their own Dutch stores, a webshop and in stores all over Europe.
Eco-logic?
Yep. Eline and Michiel first sketch the motifs and designs themselves. These patterns are then printed on ecological cotton in Turkey. The Turkish government is very strict when it comes to ecological cotton and therefore issued strict guidelines, which Lien & Giel adhere to.
This ecological cotton has been awarded the GOTS certificate, like the jersey they use. This means that the dyeing processes comply with strict requirements in terms of non-toxic substances and environmental friendliness. No nickel, PVC or chrome is used.
If you order at Lien & Giel through their webshop, your parcel will be delivered by bicycle couriers – if possible, that is.
A great place to work?
Lien & Giel’s clothing is deliberately produced in Europe and is GOTS certified. This enables the brand to monitor and guarantee quality and working conditions.
The products of Lien & Giel are free from child labour. The boots are made by three men in a limited edition of 50 pieces in a small studio in Turkey.
Circular?
Not yet. Lien & Giel don’t tell you what to do with your damaged or worn-out clothes.
