Cache-Coeur

Cache-coeur works with manufacturers in several countries; Portugal, Italy, Tunisia and Turkey. Some products are also made in France itself, such as the maternity sailor jumpers. The seamless bras are made in Thailand, by a family-run company that produces high-quality smaller batches. Unfortunately, it is difficult to correctly assess the working conditions of this company. The manufacturers located in Europe have to comply with European Union labour regulations and laws so we can assume that at least part of the collection is made in ethical conditions.

Cache-coeur attaches great importance to its products being inclusive. They strive to provide all women with comfy products, by offering a wide range of sizes suited for female bodies of all different sizes and shapes.

Some of Cache-coeur’s products are made from sustainable materials, such as organic cotton or lyocell. Their entire collection was also awarded the OEKO-Tex 100 certificate. In fact, Cache-coeur were awarded the highest class of certificate guarantees that no chemicals are discharged into wastewater or remain in the product. However, further investigation revealed that the certificate is currently (August 2022) up for renewal.

Less eco-friendly materials are also used. Several products are made of synthetic materials, such as polyester and elastane. These materials are mainly used in products where stretch is needed for better comfort.

Many of their products contain a small amount of elastane which lessens their circularity because they are harder to recycle. However, this addition is often necessary for the comfort of the products. There are also several products in the collection that are made entirely out of natural materials (cotton and lyocel). These products are biodegradable and thus more circular.

Cache-coeur has a capsule collection that is partly made from recycled materials. It’s mainly the lining of their products that are made from recycled synthetic materials. 

Unfortunately, Cache-coeur’s supply chain is not exactly short. The collection is designed in France. But its production is spread across several countries, inside and outside of Europe. As a result, the length of the supply chain strongly depends on the product in question.

Cache-coeur does not use any materials of animal origin in its collection. It is therefore entirely suitable for vegan mums to be!

Quality is of great importance to Cache-coeur. Throughout production, they pay real attention to detail and carry out several quality controls. This care, along with the high-quality materials from which the products are made, extends the lifespan of your purchase.

Another way Cache-coeur ensures that its products last longer is through adaptability. Thanks to the stretchable cups and adjustable clasps, they ensure that the bras will adapt to your changing body. Your bra will fit perfectly during and after pregnancy.

When it comes to transparency, there is unfortunately still room for improvement at Cache-coeur. Little information is known about where the materials come from and about the manufacturers who produce their clothes.
