STO­RY mfg. is a sustai­na­ble Bri­tish fas­hi­on brand that was foun­ded in 2013 and is com­ple­te­ly vegan. The brand is run by a cou­ple that works together with a per­ma­nent group of dyers, wea­vers, embroi­de­rers and tai­lors in their stu­dio in the Indi­an forest. It’s rela­ti­ve­ly transpa­rent about the ori­gins of each pro­duct and main­ly uses non-toxic, sustai­na­ble mate­ri­als and natu­ral dyes. The com­pa­ny tries to dras­ti­cally redu­ce was­te, increa­se upcy­cling and recy­cling, and take dura­bi­li­ty and life­ti­me into account when it comes to pro­duct design. Unfor­tu­na­te­ly, there’s cur­rent­ly no com­ple­te over­view of the totals and per­cen­ta­ges of mate­ri­al use. We would also like to see more infor­ma­ti­on about the brand’s sup­ply chain. With a sustai­na­bi­li­ty report with mea­su­ra­ble results and more qua­li­ty marks, STO­RY mfg. can cer­tain­ly beco­me an A in the future.
