Would you like to improve your clothing behaviour to contribute to a circular textile industry? Then you’ve come to the right place at the NUTT Amsterdam atelier. Here, unique fashionable blazers are made from discarded clothing.
Esther Mutsaers founded NUTT Amsterdam in 2022 and designs and makes all blazers herself. As a graduated costume designer and with experience in storytelling, she brings these two worlds together in her upcycling clothing brand.
The founder was shocked by how much clothing we buy and throw away, and how polluting and bad that is for our environment. She realised that, as a dressmaker, she could make a difference. That’s why she collects clothes to re-use the fabrics for blazers that will make you reflect on your clothing behaviour. You can also donate clothes that you no longer wear, so they can serve as valuable resources.
These raw materials are combined with couture, craftsmanship, quality and love. The result: unique blazers with an arty look and an environmentally conscious story. “As long as the fashion industry is not one hundred percent circular, we are useful,” says NUTT Amsterdam. Please note: because NUTT Amsterdam does not have a physical shop but an atelier only, it’s advisable to make an appointment in advance through the website. Then you can admire and try on the collection in real life. And you can always visit the webshop!
