Vera Neder­lof, a talen­ted artist and pro­fe­ssi­onal boxer, has bro­ug­ht her two passi­ons toget­her in a unique con­cept cal­led JAB! Boxing Coutu­re. During the Dut­ch Sus­ta­ina­ble Fashi­on Week from 5 to 11 Octo­ber, she will pre­sent her col­lec­ti­on and con­cept in the boxing ring of the Expe­ri­en­ce Cen­ter in Rotterdam.

A Unique Approach to Fashion

JAB! Boxing Coutu­re dis­tin­gu­ishes itself by com­bi­ning sus­ta­ina­bi­lity and cre­ati­vity. With a very limi­ted stock, Vera offers cus­to­mers the possi­bi­lity of having clot­hes upcy­cled and made to order. This means that your clot­hes are always per­fec­tly tailo­red and unique. More­over, the­re is no need for redun­dant stock or retur­ns, as only gar­ments that sati­sfy both par­ti­es go out into the world. 

Van Ballet naar Boksen: Een Nieuwe Uitdaging

Na een lan­ge peri­ode van kla­ssi­ek bal­let bes­lo­ot Vera Neder­lof om te gaan bok­sen. Voor haar voel­de bok­sen als dan­sen, maar dan met meer impro­vi­sa­tie. In pla­ats van met iemand te dan­sen, dans­te ze ​‘tegen’ haar tegens­tan­der. Bok­sen geeft haar vrij­he­id, krac­ht, zel­fver­tro­uwen en ple­zi­er. Ze ziet het als scha­ken met haar lic­ha­am, waar­bij ze niet alle­en fysi­eke krac­ht gebru­ikt, maar ook haar inzic­ht in men­sen. Het is een mani­er voor haar om zic­h­zelf uit te druk­ken met haar boksartwerken.

Vera Neder­lof, een geta­len­te­er­de kuns­te­na­ar en pro­fe­ssi­one­le bok­ser, heeft haar twee passi­es samen­ge­brac­ht in een uni­ek con­cept gena­amd JAB! Boxing Coutu­re. Tij­dens de Dut­ch Sus­ta­ina­ble Fashi­on Week van 5 tot 11 okto­ber, zal zij haar col­lec­tie en con­cept pre­sen­te­ren in de boxring van het Expe­ri­en­ce Cen­ter in Rotterdam. 

From Ballet to Boxing: A New Challenge

After a long stint in cla­ssi­cal bal­let, Vera Neder­lof deci­ded to take up boxing. For her, boxing felt like dan­cing, but with more impro­vi­sa­ti­on. Ins­te­ad of dan­cing with some­one, she dan­ced ​‘aga­inst’ her oppo­nent. Boxing gives her fre­edom, stren­g­th, con­fi­den­ce and fun. She sees it as chess with her body, using not only physi­cal stren­g­th but also her under­stan­ding of people. It is a way for her to express her­self with her boxing artworks

Art and Boxing: A Cre­ati­ve Fusion 

Vera Neder­lof has always had a desi­re to bring toget­her the wor­l­ds of boxing and art in dif­fe­rent ways. She shows her artwor­ks as a per­for­man­ce exhi­bi­ti­on, for exam­ple as a ring card girl in the boxing ring during a mat­ch. Recen­tly, she wor­ked on a mural of a boxer jum­ping rope. She keeps cons­tan­tly explo­ring what else she can do with her drawin­gs and is always trying to push boun­da­ri­es. JAB! BY VERA NEDER­LOF® – BOXING COUTU­RE – is her latest con­cept that embo­di­es this cre­ati­ve fusion.
