Nanue

Nanue garm­ents are desi­gned by Vero­ni­ca, fashion desi­gner and foun­der of Nanue, and ethi­cal­ly hand­ma­de in a small work­shop in the Cana­ry Islands by women for women. 

Their designs have the per­fect fit and offer maxi­mum sup­port wit­hout rest­ric­ting free­dom of move­ment, as the fabric they are made from is ultra-light­weight and high-per­for­mance. It has been manu­fac­tu­red with an inno­va­ti­ve tech­no­lo­gy that offers the hig­hest per­for­mance and com­fort. Hyper-resistant, thin, ela­s­tic, soft and breat­ha­ble. Func­tion­al clot­hing wit­hout com­pro­mi­sing on design. 

In addi­ti­on, the yoga clot­hing has been tes­ted and desi­gned in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with yoga tea­chers, and some of its garm­ents fea­ture designs by local illustrators.

Their yoga and surf sets are made from recy­cled poly­es­ter (SEAL Recy­cled Poly­es­ter Lycra) and with the mini­mum amount of mate­ri­al pos­si­ble. They also have the Oeko Tex Stan­dard 100 cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on, which gua­ran­tees that no harmful sub­s­tances or che­mi­cals have been used in their manu­fac­tu­re, eit­her for peo­p­le or for the envi­ron­ment. So you can be sure that your garm­ents are com­ple­te­ly safe to wear during your yoga or sur­fing practice. 

Their new coll­ec­tion, on the other hand, is made with Eco­nyl rege­ne­ra­ted nylon. A yarn com­po­sed of rege­ne­ra­ted nylon and elas­t­a­ne, which has been manu­fac­tu­red using pre-con­su­mer and post-con­su­mer was­te, such as fishing nets, fabric scraps and indus­tri­al plastics.

For sports­wear, it is often neces­sa­ry to use a stretch fabric. This ela­s­tic is crea­ted by incor­po­ra­ting elas­t­a­ne into the fabric. Unfort­u­na­te­ly, elas­t­a­ne is a syn­the­tic and unsus­tainable fabric. But Nanue uses only a small per­cen­ta­ge of elas­t­a­ne in their garments. 

They also use a small per­cen­ta­ge of 100% GOTS cer­ti­fied orga­nic cot­ton for their T‑shirt collection.

Nanue uses recy­cled fabrics, ther­eby redu­cing the use of vir­gin mate­ri­als, and giving a second life to some mate­ri­als, such as recy­cled poly­es­ter or Eco­nyl rege­ne­ra­ted nylon, which is made using pre- and post-con­su­mer was­te, such as fishing nets, fabric scraps and indus­tri­al plastics.

Nanue makes its garm­ents local­ly and ethi­cal­ly in the Cana­ry Islands, whe­re Sara and Vero­ni­ca, the foun­ders of Nanue, live. In addi­ti­on, almost all their tex­ti­le sup­pli­ers are from the main­land, their fabric Eco­nyl, which comes from a sup­pli­er in Italy.
