How sustainable is Olmsted?
This screening has been done by Fairify
Olmsted is a Canadian luxury outerwear brand that promotes slow fashion and stimulates the local economy. All of its products are produced in Canada, which is a low-risk country in terms of workers’ rights, and the brand mainly uses sustainable materials. The parkas are made from 100% GOTS Certified organic cotton and Olmsted states that the insulation of the jackets consists of sustainably harvested down of Canadian origin. Unfortunately, there’s no affiliated quality mark to guarantee this. The brand is not transparent about its emissions and doesn’t publish a sustainability report, so it’s completely unclear what its carbon footprint is. There’s just too little information available to be able to consider Olmsted a sustainable brand.
