DSFW – Vinyl Cutting Upcycling Workshop

In this two-hour sessi­on, we’ll dive into the basics of vinyl cut­ting and guide you thro­ugh cre­ating cus­tom desig­ns on your clot­hing items.

Here’s what will be covered:

• Intro­duc­ti­on to Vinyl Cut­ting: It will start with a bri­ef over­vi­ew of the vinyl cut­ting pro­cess, inclu­ding the equ­ip­ment used and the types of vinyl. You’ll learn how desig­ns are cut from she­ets of vinyl using a cut­ting mac­hi­ne and how the­se desig­ns can be tran­sfer­red onto vari­ous textiles.
• Demons­tra­ti­on: Demons­tra­ti­on of the enti­re pro­cess, from selec­ting a design to cut­ting the vinyl and applying it to a gar­ment. This will give you a cle­ar under­stan­ding of each step involved.
• Cho­osing Your Desig­ns: You can bring mul­ti­ple clot­hing items to deci­de which ones you’d like to cus­to­mi­ze. A vari­ety of sten­cils that you can use are pre­pa­red for you, but feel free to mix and mat­ch ele­ments to cre­ate your own unique artworks.
• Han­ds-on Guidan­ce: As you work on your pro­jec­ts, a guide will be the­re to lead you thro­ugh each step, from arran­ging the sten­cils to applying the vinyl. You’ll have the oppor­tu­nity to expe­ri­ment and get cre­ati­ve with your designs.
