On Satur­day, June 8, 2024, we will cele­bra­te the Blo­em­hof Fes­ti­val for the third time! Everyo­ne, young and old, is wel­co­me from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Put­se­ple­in, behind De Sle­utel pri­mary scho­ol. The Blo­em­hof Fes­ti­val is orga­ni­zed by and for the neig­h­bor­ho­od, featu­ring nume­ro­us free acti­vi­ti­es. Stamp Card for Chil­dren
Chil­dren will rece­ive a Blo­em­hof Fes­ti­val stamp card befo­re­hand thro­ugh the­ir scho­ol. They get a stamp for par­ti­ci­pa­ting in acti­vi­ti­es at the fes­ti­val. With a full stamp card, they can get a free tre­at during the festival.

What’s on?

Chil­dren’s Vil­la­ge
In vari­ous tents and stal­ls, you can make nume­ro­us craf­ts in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Blo­em­hof scho­ols, SOL, resi­dents, and Lic­ht op Zuid. Feije­no­ord Library will be reading sto­ri­es and the­re will be books to browse. The­re are two boun­cy cas­tles, face pain­ting, hen­na tat­to­os, and a pup­pet show. RIO010 is hos­ting a foot­ball chal­len­ge, just like last year.

Food & Drink
Resi­dents of Blo­em­hof pro­ud­ly showca­se the­ir culi­nary skil­ls! Annie sel­ls her cakes and makes cup­ca­kes with chil­dren, and Kari­ma sel­ls Moroc­can cooki­es and tea. BLEND is also pre­sent with ice cre­am (cof­fee) and drin­ks, along with tre­ats from Play­gro­und de Kli­mro­os. Resi­dents Seema and Zahi­da sell kebabs, pako­ra, san­dwic­hes, and drin­ks. Volun­te­ers from the Bir­lik mosque offer fri­ed snac­ks, and typi­cal Pakis­ta­ni food is ava­ila­ble at the Masjid Gha­usia stall.

Cul­tu­re & Cam­pus
This year, the­re is a col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Cul­tu­re & Cam­pus at the Blo­em­hof Fes­ti­val. Expect acti­vi­ti­es in the field of fashi­on. Vari­ous clot­hing and craft gro­ups from Blo­em­hof will be behind sewing mac­hi­nes to repa­ir or alter your clot­hes in the ​‘Clot­hing Upcy­cling’ acti­vity. Toget­her with chil­dren from vari­ous pri­mary scho­ols, the­re will be a real fashi­on show! Besi­des drin­ks and ice cre­am, BLEND also orga­ni­zes a clot­hing swap. Ani­mal and natu­re lovers can dis­co­ver coral at Blo­em­hof­fer Burhan’s Oce­anLab or learn more abo­ut son­g­bir­ds from Bir­ds and Fri­en­d­ship. And there’s much more! The­re are also wor­k­shops: taekwon­do, pain­ting, and circus!

Meet Each Other at the Networ­king Squ­are
At the Blo­em­hof Fes­ti­val, you can easily meet people who work in the neig­h­bor­ho­od from vari­ous orga­ni­za­ti­ons such as the neig­h­bor­ho­od coun­cil, Woons­tad, Hef Wonen, SOL, the poli­ce, City Mana­ge­ment, Like je Wijk, Stic­h­ting Je Goed Rec­ht, and more!

Music and More!
Thro­ug­ho­ut the fes­ti­val, a DJ will pro­vi­de lively music. Addi­ti­onal­ly, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the­re will be vari­ous per­for­man­ces by the brass band, youth from Stu­dio Ole­an­der, Kasba (wor­ld music), and vari­ous dan­ce performances.
