Panel Talk: Fast Fashi­on adé? New per­s­pec­ti­ves for sus­ta­ina­ble clot­hing con­sump­ti­on – with Dana Giesec­ke (FUTUR­ZWEI) and Cari­na Bis­c­hof (Fashi­on Revo­lu­ti­on Germany)

How can fashi­on beco­me sus­ta­ina­ble? Dana Giesec­ke and Cari­na Bis­c­hof dis­cuss the soci­al and eco­lo­gi­cal con­sequ­en­ces of the fast fashi­on indus­try and show how com­pa­ni­es, desig­ners and con­su­mers can take res­pon­si­bi­lity toget­her. Topics such as the cir­cu­lar eco­nomy, second-hand, fair pro­duc­ti­on con­di­ti­ons and new design stra­te­gi­es will take cen­tre sta­ge. An ins­pi­ring dis­cu­ssi­on abo­ut alter­na­ti­ves to conven­ti­onal fashi­on con­sump­ti­on – and abo­ut how clot­hing can stay in the cycle for longer.

Cari­na Bis­c­hof is co-foun­der of Fashi­on Revo­lu­ti­on Ger­many and has been advi­sing on sus­ta­ina­ble fashi­on, upcy­cling and cir­cu­lar texti­le stra­te­gi­es for over 15 years.

Dana Giesec­ke is a soci­olo­gist, direc­tor of the FUTUR­ZWEI Foun­da­ti­on and lec­tu­rer in design. Both are com­mit­ted to fair, reso­ur­ce-con­ser­ving futu­re models in fashi­on and are part of the jury for the Recy­cling Design Award.
