From Old Banners to Your New Favourite Bag

At Noch­Mall in Ber­lin, old ban­ners and flags get a second use as prac­ti­cal bags. In this relaxed sewing work­shop, par­ti­ci­pants turn used ban­ner and flag mate­rial into a han­dy pouch for cos­me­tics, sewing sup­plies or pens, and dis­co­ver how sup­po­sed waste can become a real favou­rite piece.

No pre­vious expe­rience is nee­ded. Mate­rials, pat­terns and sewing machines are all rea­dy and wai­ting. The work­shop is a chance to get crea­tive toge­ther, swap ideas and find ins­pi­ra­tion, and eve­ryone goes home with a one of a kind bag made with their own hands.

The ses­sion fol­lows four simple steps: choo­sing a ban­ner or flag, cut­ting and pre­pa­ring the pieces, sewing and fini­shing the bag, and final­ly proud­ly pre­sen­ting the new creation.
