Fairy tales for adult women
Wrap dresses with polka dots, T‑shirts with kittens, sweaters with rainbows … Yes, as an adult woman you can certainly wear this and that thanks to the women’s clothing brand Sugarhill Brighton. Founded by two sisters after a successful start in 2006. At that time the brand was still called Sugarhill Boutique, but in 2018 they changed it to Sugarhill Brighton. In this way, they want to integrate their home base in their collections.
Eco
The two sisters Aleks and Pawel consider the preservation of our planet important and believe that this also goes hand in hand with fair trade. To underpin the principles, the brand claims to work with some natural materials, such as organic cotton and viscose. However, not all of their collection is sustainable, as there are still some polyester dresses in between and not all cotton is organic. This is a pity COSH! thinks since Sugarhill Brighton, with their product lines and style, does have the potential to be completely sustainable.
Fair
The women’s brand produces at companies that follow the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) code. This means that no child labor or slavery is permitted, that working conditions are good and that employees are paid a fair wage. But at COSH! we have a lot of doubts about the ETI, as some dubious fast-fashion chains are also affiliated with it. Which companies Sugarhill cooperates with is not clear either. So we expect more transparency about this.
