It’s cold, isn’t it?
A warm winter coat does wonders during harsh winters. Especially if you have to go on a polar expedition. Hoodlamb (the former Hemp Tailor) makes jackets in hemp and fake fur for Greenpeace activists and for people who like to travel to cold places.
What’s Hoodlamb?
Winter coats made of hemp. They also have an ecological hemp-cellulose coating against water. The pockets are specially lined to keep your hands warm. It also has many other compartments where you can store your stuff. Do your glasses need a polish? Clean it with the inside of your chest pocket, which is lined with a lens polish cloth.
Hemp
As mentioned before, the main material is hemp, but the jackets and sweaters usually come in a blend of organic cotton and recycled organic cotton. In addition, the dyes are all GOTS-certified. The fake fur is also environmentally friendly, as they use a material called Satifur for this purpose. This is a fabric made from hemp, recycled PET and acrylic. There is no information about haberdashery. The brand treats the jackets with Zelan R3. This is a water-resistant coating made from renewable, vegetable, non-fluorinated raw materials.
Made in China
Hoodlamb produces its coats in China at some family businesses. The brand maintains very good relationships with its partners. For example, the founder regularly visits the companies in order to preserve these relationships. Nevertheless, we would like to have a little more transparency about this brand.
