As a wool rider, you can register for free until 15 June 2024. All participants will then be placed on a map and a cycling route will be created based on nearby locations. We try to integrate as many participants as possible. You will be notified if your location falls on the route or not.
As a wolf cyclist, you can purchase the route, cycle and swap to your heart’s content. The route is for sale at

Game rules
Wool swappers offer scraps of wool, magazines, books and needles for exchange. They are therefore not free. Exchange your scraps for others, preferably with a label or memo of weight, needle thickness and composition.
If you have nothing to swap at the moment, but would like to have something, please donate.
Wool swappers like you to consider:
no tangle wool
no discolouration
good condition
equivalent
Swap sheep for equivalent:

- Common and readily available wool
- Less readily available wool
- Unique wool
The sheep indicate the exchange class. So this does not mean that 1 ball of wool with 3 sheep has the same exchange value as 3 balls of wool with 1 sheep.
Register
You can register here as a wool swapper until 15 June 2024. Make sure you fill in all the information properly so that everything is as complete as possible. Sjette will take your privacy into account.
After registering, you will receive a file via e‑mail that can get you started on setting up your wool swap point. As a wool swapper, we ask you to place the logo and QR code of the Sjetteroute next to your wool. In this way, we will create more awareness together.
Responsibility
Every wool swapper is responsible for his/her wool exchange point. In other words, you get to make it your own. You decide what you exchange and which exchange class gets which wool. You also take care of the maintenance, visibility and promotion of your wool swap point.
Swapping
The main purpose of the Sjetteroute is to swap wool. It is a low-threshold concept that we want to make accessible to everyone. By swapping, fewer surplus items end up in the attic or the dustbin and we bring people closer together.
If, as a wolf rider, you have nothing to trade at the moment, we ask you to make a donation according to Sjette’s price list. The wool swapper will thank you for that.
Start
Would you like to become a wool rider, but would like to get some tips? You’ll find some below.
Wool exchange point
Which format is best for you depends on several factors.
First decide where you want to place the point. This will determine the size of the point. If you have a lot of space, you can opt for a larger point than someone with little space.
Also take into account the weather conditions. It is recommended to make your wool exchange point waterproof and windproof. Bright sun can also be detrimental and discolour the wool. Put it in a well-sheltered place, but keep in mind that the wool exchange point should be clearly visible and easily accessible to wolf cyclists.
Provide your cabinet with the game rules, logo and QR code of the Sjetteroute. It makes sense to do some advertising yourself. You can do this by placing a notice at the local supermarket, on frequently visited sites or on social media.
You may have to be a bit patient at the start. This is the first year the Shetteroute is being held. But it is also the case that if you have had a number of wolf cyclists, some word of mouth does develop. So be sure to have a chat with each other.
Wool remnants
You can distinguish between balls of less than 25g (small balls) and more than 25g (large balls). If there is still an original label, it is useful to offer this with it. That way, the wolf cyclists know exactly what it is about.
You can also start sorting by colour. You can subdivide warm, cold and neutral colours. If you have lots of 1 colour, you can also put them together. You can also sort by thickness or composition.
Give your wool scraps an exchange class. You can indicate this in an original way with labels or signs. Make sure they are not faded or discoloured and in good condition.
You will come across wolves that do not follow the rules of the game. There is little you can do about it, but know that it can happen. Don’t let this discourage you. There are also fine wolf bikers who will happily trade and stick to the rules.
And you will just come across wool scraps without a label. Don’t worry, you can still do a lot with those scraps too. If you are completely stuck, Sjette can always help you.
Extras
You can choose to put a guest book at your wool exchange point. That way, wolf bikers can leave a nice note for you. That’s always nice.
