Upcycle Your Old Clothes at REantwerp

This July, REan­twerp is skip­ping the cla­ssic sum­mer sales. Ins­te­ad of cle­aring out stock, the soci­al ate­li­er is invi­ting people to bring somet­hing back to life. From 1 to 18 July, anyo­ne can drop by with an old gar­ment they no lon­ger wear: a cot­ton shirt, dress or T‑shirt gat­he­ring dust beca­use of a small sta­in, a lit­tle hole, or sim­ply beca­use it has lost its spark.

The REan­twerp team will give it a new look using a piece of lef­to­ver fabric. You cho­ose a fabric from the­ir selec­ti­on and the­ir makers stit­ch it onto your gar­ment (€20 per piece). A for­got­ten item beco­mes weara­ble aga­in, and genu­inely one of a kind.

REan­twerp is a soci­al­ly dri­ven ate­li­er and fashi­on label who­se team is made up of newco­mers and refu­ge­es with a bac­k­gro­und in texti­les. The stu­dio nur­tu­res and stren­g­t­hens the­ir craft, then hel­ps them find a pla­ce in the Bel­gi­an texti­le sec­tor. Its pieces are made by hand from lef­to­ver fabrics sour­ced from Bel­gi­an fashi­on houses and inter­na­ti­onal luxury labels.
