Natural Dye Batik Workshop

Curi­ous abo­ut the art of batik and wor­king with natu­ral dyes? The Natu­ral Dye Batik Wor­k­shop offers a full day dedi­ca­ted to this tra­di­ti­onal craft. Par­ti­ci­pants explo­re batik tec­h­niqu­es, expe­ri­ment with natu­ral dyes, and design a cot­ton batik ban­da­na. Each ban­da­na is dyed by hand, with the fixing and boiling pro­cess hand­led afterward to ensu­re a las­ting result. 

The pro­gram also inclu­des a short scre­ening of the docu­men­tary Batik, Beats & Bum­bu by @pijmanclaire, fol­lowing makers with Indo­ne­si­an roots in the­ir cre­ati­ve practice.
