OBA by evening

Are you also coming to ​‘OBA by eve­ning’ in OBA Mer­ca­tor­ple­in? Work on your own cre­ati­ve pro­ject in the com­pany of other cre­ati­ve people. 

During the next two edi­ti­ons of ​‘OBA by eve­ning’ we will, as usu­al, offer somet­hing extra. In col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with Wear for Live, you will come across a Fashi­on Recy­cle and Repa­ir sta­ti­on in the library, com­ple­te with pro­fe­ssi­onal sewing mac­hi­nes, embro­idery mac­hi­ne and an over­loc­ker. So bring your old clot­hes with you, for your­self or for some­one else.

What can you expect? 

• A nice pla­ce to con­ti­nue with your own cre­ati­ve pro­ject or to start a new one. 
• The spa­ce to expe­ri­ment with mate­ri­als, tools and/​or tec­h­niqu­es. From clay and croc­het to pho­to­grap­hy and digi­tal fabri­ca­ti­on. All for­ms, mate­ri­als and tec­h­niqu­es are welcome. 
• The oppor­tu­nity to exc­han­ge ide­as and knowled­ge with other creatives.

This is the per­fect time to final­ly pick up ​‘that one’ pro­ject you’ve been thin­king abo­ut for a whi­le or to chal­len­ge your­self and start somet­hing new. 
Enjoy the atmosp­he­re and get to work inde­pen­den­tly or exc­han­ge ide­as and make use of each other’s exper­ti­se. You are wel­co­me to come alo­ne or bring some­one along.

Wear for life 

Wear For Life is a cam­pa­ign aimed at making more sus­ta­ina­ble fashi­on known and acce­ssi­ble to everyo­ne. The Wear For Life cam­pa­ign cal­ls on all fashi­on lovers in Ams­ter­dam and beyond to make a pled­ge: buy less, cho­ose well and wear your clot­hes lon­ger . The goal? Redu­ce the moun­ta­in of clot­hing was­te and enco­ura­ge a cul­tu­re of reuse and repair.
