DIY Weaving Rigid Heddle Loom Workshop

Texti­le artist Cami­la More­no and De Ste­ek deve­lo­ped this lovely cour­se for begin­ners who want to learn the basics of weaving on a Rigid Hedd­le Loom (table loom). In this cour­se you learn the plan­ning of your work, pre­pa­ring and wor­king on the loom and in the end, cre­ating your own scarf as a result!

Stu­dents will learn:
> How to plan a pro­ject and make small sam­ples.
> How to dress the loom (put the warp on and thre­ad the loom)
> How to start a scarf with the hem stit­c­hing (is the same for the fini­shing)
> How to weave with cot­ton yarn, tec­h­niqu­es to chan­ge colo­urs, mana­ge the ten­si­on, edges, etc

Mate­ri­als and Tools are inclu­ded
> Each stu­dent will have 4 cot­ton yarn in dif­fe­rent colo­urs, 1 need­le for wool and one cot­ton bag to sto­ra­ge the­ir per­so­nal mate­ri­als.
> You will use an Ash­ford Hedd­le Loom 40 cm wide with a 30/10 reed.
> All stu­dents will have the opti­on to buy the looms if they want at the end of the class.
