This weekend, SUSSY Summer Bar in Borgerhout opens its doors to a striking photo exposition that puts a human face on the climate crisis. The show is part of the EU Climate Pact (Our Planet EU) and coincides with the European Day for the Victims of the Global Climate Crisis, bringing together the work of photographers Simone Padovani and Illir Tsouso.
Through their lenses, visitors travel across Southern Europe to witness the aftermath of floods, storms and other climate disasters. Yet this is more than documentary reportage: each image traces a deeply personal story, revealing the lasting trauma that continues to shape survivors’ lives long after the water has receded.
The exhibition invites you to slow down, look closely and reflect on what a warming planet already means for the people living through it, and on the choices we make next. Come for the photography, stay for the conversation, and raise a glass at the summer bar afterwards.
