What if the clot­hes we dis­card could tell a dif­fe­rent story?

ReDress the Futu­re is an immer­si­ve exhi­bi­ti­on that chal­len­ges the way we think abo­ut clot­hing — its value, its lifecy­cle, and the cho­ices we make as con­su­mers. Cre­ated by soci­al and fashi­on Re-Desig­ner Han­na Pétur­sdót­tir, the exhi­bi­ti­on tran­sfor­ms the Utrec­ht Neude Library into a living spa­ce whe­re fashi­on, sus­ta­ina­bi­lity, and art inter­sect in ways that are tan­gi­ble, pro­vo­ca­ti­ve, and joyful.

Expe­ri­en­ce the Exhi­bi­ti­on Step into a wor­ld built aro­und reuse and ima­gi­na­ti­on. Among the hig­hlig­h­ts is Dress to For­get — a stri­king ins­tal­la­ti­on com­po­sed enti­rely of dis­car­ded gar­ments, assem­bled into a new form that spar­ks honest conver­sa­ti­on abo­ut was­te, con­sump­ti­on, and what we cho­ose to throw away. 

Par­ti­ci­pa­te & Con­nect This is not a passi­ve expe­ri­en­ce. Visi­tors are invi­ted to swap dre­sses, con­tri­bu­te to an ever-growing com­mu­nity gar­ment, and leave the­ir mark on the Texti­le Library backdrop. 

Wor­k­shops & Making Daily wor­k­shops led by local fashi­on desig­ners, sus­ta­ina­ble entre­pre­ne­urs, and stu­dents from the HKU explo­re visi­ble repa­ir, res­tyling, and cre­ati­ve reuse 

You can par­ti­ci­pa­te in everyt­hing for free, and the ReDress the Futu­re pro­gram will be publi­shed on the Utrec­ht Library calen­dar. We are cur­ren­tly busy plan­ning wor­k­shops and exhi­bi­ti­ons, so keep an eye out for updates.

We are pro­ud to be wor­king with so many cre­ators and resi­dents of Utrec­ht to build a dif­fe­rent rela­ti­on­ship with clot­hing, with less was­te, more meaning, and more imagination!
