ReDress the Future- An Interactive Fashion Exhibition · Utrecht Neude Library
What if the clothes we discard could tell a different story?
ReDress the Future is an immersive exhibition that challenges the way we think about clothing — its value, its lifecycle, and the choices we make as consumers. Created by social and fashion Re-Designer Hanna Pétursdóttir, the exhibition transforms the Utrecht Neude Library into a living space where fashion, sustainability, and art intersect in ways that are tangible, provocative, and joyful.
Experience the Exhibition Step into a world built around reuse and imagination. Among the highlights is Dress to Forget — a striking installation composed entirely of discarded garments, assembled into a new form that sparks honest conversation about waste, consumption, and what we choose to throw away.
Participate & Connect This is not a passive experience. Visitors are invited to swap dresses, contribute to an ever-growing community garment, and leave their mark on the Textile Library backdrop.
Workshops & Making Daily workshops led by local fashion designers, sustainable entrepreneurs, and students from the HKU explore visible repair, restyling, and creative reuse
You can participate in everything for free, and the ReDress the Future program will be published on the Utrecht Library calendar. We are currently busy planning workshops and exhibitions, so keep an eye out for updates.
We are proud to be working with so many creators and residents of Utrecht to build a different relationship with clothing, with less waste, more meaning, and more imagination!
Will you come and see and participate? The official opening is on Friday, March 20, at 4 p.m.
