In Mechelen, you will find the Circular Innovation Lab or CiLAB for short. The innovative hub was founded by a collective of three entrepreneurs who are looking for a circular solution for textile waste. Founders Jan Merckx, Clinton James Topley and Sibille Diederichs have been working with fashion and textiles for years. With her brand, Joseffa, entrepreneur Sibille makes nightwear from worn shirts.
In the clothing workshop, they research techniques to scale up the textile recycling process and thus promote the reuse of textiles. The entrepreneurs aim above all to change consumer behaviour and to create a learning network. This is why CiLAB is a vibrant atelier where various creative people who are working on sustainable fashion gather! For the time being, the atelier is not accessible to the general public.
