Create Your Own Unique Rug in Just One Day!

Have you always wan­ted to try tuf­ting? During this fun and relaxing wor­k­shop, you’ll cre­ate your own (wall)rug using a real tuf­ting gun! You’ve pro­ba­bly seen the popu­lar vide­os onli­ne — now it’s your turn to give it a go.

This wor­k­shop is per­fect for both begin­ners and expe­ri­en­ced makers. With small gro­ups of up to 8 people, there’s plen­ty of per­so­nal guidan­ce. Step by step, you’ll learn the tuf­ting tec­h­nique and take home your very own han­d­ma­de artwork.

What is Tufting?

Tuf­ting is a texti­le tec­h­nique whe­re loops of yarn are ​“shot” into a stret­c­hed fabric using a tuf­ting gun. It’s a fast, fun, and cre­ati­ve way to make color­ful, soft desig­ns like rugs, wall han­gin­gs, and even texti­le art. Com­pa­red to hand tuf­ting, using a tuf­ting gun is quic­ker and more pre­ci­se — and very sati­sfying to do!

What to Expect During the Workshop

The wor­k­shop las­ts aro­und 5 hours. You’ll cre­ate a rug up to 50 x 60 cm (or a round sha­pe up to 60 cm in diame­ter). Once fini­shed, you can dis­play your piece on the wall, pla­ce it on the flo­or, or even fra­me it for a more luxu­ri­ous look.

Workshop Program

- Intro­duc­ti­on: how to use the tuf­ting gun
- Drawing your design on the stret­c­hed fabric (70 x 70 cm fra­me)
- Cho­osing your yarn (a wide ran­ge of colors ava­ila­ble)
- Tuf­ting your design with the tuf­ting gun
- Fini­shing with glue
- Opti­onal: sha­ving the sur­fa­ce for a cle­an, poli­shed result

All mate­ri­als, tools, drin­ks, and snac­ks are included.

Prepare Your Design in Advance

To get star­ted quic­k­ly during the wor­k­shop, ple­ase pre­pa­re your design at home. Think of abs­tract sha­pes, flo­ral motifs, lan­d­s­ca­pes, or seaso­nal the­mes. You can bring an exis­ting idea or get ins­pi­red by pre­vi­ous par­ti­ci­pants (check out the photos!).

Tip: Your design can be a maxi­mum of 50 x 60 cm, or cir­cu­lar with a diame­ter of 60 cm. Keep in mind that this invol­ves quite a lot of tuf­ting to com­ple­te wit­hin the given time. We the­re­fo­re recom­mend making it a bit smal­ler, depen­ding on the num­ber of sec­ti­ons in your design. For exam­ple, 60 x 40 cm or 50 x 50 cm.

Everything You Need is Provided

We pro­vi­de all tools and mate­ri­als:
- A stur­dy wooden tuf­ting fra­me
- High-quality yar­ns in vari­ous colors
- Tuf­ting gun and tuf­ting need­les
- Sci­ssors, hooks, and other tools
- Car­pet glue for the final finish

All you need to bring is your design idea and your enthusiasm!
