Is your drawer filled with single socks? And you don't know how to prevent that problem? Well, thanks to Qnoop the ideal pair of socks are now available for your use. A pair that stays loyal to each other and to its owner for the rest of its life.
This Amsterdam sock label, launched in 2015, has a solution to the single-sock problem. One stocking has a loop and the other a button. By tying them together, the couple doesn't lose sight of each other and you always end up with a complete socks collection. Qnoop makes his socks from the right materials so that you don't have to worry about the hole in the atmosphere or a hole in your sock.
That you can't lose all your socks sounds very interesting. But what's even more remarkable is that the label is good to the planet. For Qnoop this is a very important aspect and therefore they work with GOTS-certified organic cotton and OEKOE-TEX-certified ink. The buttons are biodegradable and the labels are made of recycled cardboard. In order to keep its ecological footprint small, all the production takes place in Portugal.
On top of that, their organic cotton socks live a long life. By pressing and steaming the socks, they prevent shrinkage and make them nice and soft. After all, a product that lasts a long time wins time for Mother Nature. Take, for example, the fact that the socks last longer, means that you don't have to buy new ones every now and then. An extra benefit for your wallet and for the environment.
However, the brand cannot be called circular. The socks consist of vegetal and artificial fibres, which makes the recycling or upcycle process almost impossible. The use of elastane and lurex can also have a negative impact but elastane is so common in socks. We would love Qnoop to be even more transparent on this and hopes they can make more lurex free pairs in the future.
Because they only produce with GOTS-certified organic cotton, the cotton farmers are not disadvantaged. They receive a fair wage and work in safe working conditions.
The production of the socks themselves takes place in a factory in Portugal where the same rules apply.
Would you rather see your socks together than separated? Then Qnoop is the ecological way to go.
