At Päälä it's all about simplicity and nature. Especially when it comes to the materials from which the garments are made. For the prints, the brand likes to keep it old school with the silkscreen print.
This Amsterdam brand designs T-shirts, dresses, sweaters and scarves for women who have a love for basics. What makes the clothing brand original are the Scandinavian drawings that are printed on it using a silkscreen print. But where does the ecological aspect come into play? First of all, Päälä only works with GOTS-certified organic cotton, linen and bamboo. Secondly, the ink used to print the garments is water-based. This has a very low impact on the environment and remains beautiful for a long time, even after a few washes.
Printing takes place in the Netherlands, the garments themselves are produced in factories abroad. We do not know where these are located. Päälä does let us know that all the companies it works with are members of the Fair Wear Foundation. This should ensure good working conditions and a fair wage. A little more transparency about the suppliers would have been more interesting.
Would you like to add some original basics to your durable wardrobe? Then Päälä is definitely something for you. Look below where you can find this clothing brand for women.
